Hey Everyone,, Here's a really neat image I found. Pretty much summarizes the global issue we had been talking about on the other blog, as to why we don't see much from other countries .. because the Americans own a large portion of these major business that are internationally and globally run .

I love this thought. In the States, I find talking to people that I have encountered in "big business" they feel these international holdings add to the multi-culturalism in the USA. These people running big business in the USA of course, are all either Canadian or Swiss.
ReplyDeleteI question whether or not we realize how many "American" companies that own companies in other nations (i.e., Africa and the mid and far-east) actually have deep central European ties.

ReplyDeleteOf course America owns and dominates a lot of the most popular businesses. This reminds me of the example of Walt Disney owning ABC and ESPN, once the corporation has enough money and recognizable power, they are expected to dominate in every way possible. America, in this case is working like Walt Disney, with their international power and celebrities, they are able to cater their views and beliefs to other countries with their businesses and are able to even take control over large businesses in other countries because of their power. We ae taught to believe that America owns many of these businesses, but we do not learn that Canada owns Nestle (for example).
